a Model for Treatment “Actively Attracting International Patients and Operating a 500-Bed Specialized Hospital”




Kim Hyun-soo, CEO of Pamisell Co., Ltd.—the developer of Cellgram-AMI, the world’s first stem cell therapy—has opened the Kim Hyun-soo Stem Cell Clinic, a specialized stem cell medical facility, in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Drawing on his expertise as a former hematologist-oncologist, CEO Kim aims to establish a specialized stem cell medical institution. Going forward, he plans to attract international patients through a 300-bed hospital and expand operations as an investment-open hospital (for-profit hospital).Dr. Kim Hyun-soo met with reporters on the 14th and stated, “We plan to maximize treatment efficacy by combining stem cell therapy with existing conventional treatments and to introduce a personalized care system tailored to each patient’s individual characteristics.”

Dr. Kim emphasized, “By providing more specialized equipment and treatment methods for stem cell therapy—which is becoming a beacon of hope for many patients with intractable diseases—we intend to serve as a role model for other medical professionals who are unfamiliar with stem cell therapy.”
The newly opened Kim Hyun-soo Stem Cell Clinic consists of three main centers—the Stem Cell Center, the Internal Medicine Center, and the Plastic Surgery Center—which are overseen by two internal medicine specialists and one plastic surgeon. A cardiologist will join the team shortly.
 
In particular, the “PamiCell Stem Cell Center,” which stores stem cells and conducts related clinical trials, has been established in a separate facility to facilitate high-quality research collaboration.

In addition to providing basic internal medicine care, the Internal Medicine Center has specialized treatment protocols for life-threatening intractable diseases, anti-aging, skin conditions, and sexual function, based on the clinic’s extensive experience—the largest in Korea—in stem cell therapy.

Major treatment areas include stroke, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and spinal cord injuries, as well as cardiovascular diseases such as acute myocardial infarction and ischemic cardiomyopathy, and gastrointestinal disorders including cirrhosis, pancreatitis, and ulcerative colitis.

The Plastic Surgery Center incorporates expertise in regeneration and functional improvement using stem cell culture medium to provide a higher level of treatment. Services range from general cosmetic procedures—such as breast augmentation, eye and nose surgery, buttock augmentation, body contouring, and wrinkle reduction—to scar treatment, skin regeneration, and hair loss treatment.

In addition, Director Kim Hyun-soo explained, “Our ultimate goal is to become an investment-open hospital—that is, a for-profit hospital,” adding, “Since establishing a for-profit hospital is currently difficult under existing laws, we are proceeding with preparations for this.”

He continued, “Our ultimate goal is to establish a 500-bed hospital in Seoul specializing in stem cell therapy by exploring the potential through our stem cell clinic and gradually increasing the number of beds,” adding, “We also aim to establish Meditel in the future to create a comprehensive stem cell special zone.”

Finally, CEO Kim Hyun-soo emphasized, “We will introduce a personalized care system tailored to each patient’s individual characteristics and transform into a world-class stem cell treatment institution that leads the field of stem cell therapy.”

Regarding the operation of the stem cell clinic, Director Kim Hyun-soo added, “We concluded that the ultimate destination for the biotech business must inevitably be the hospital business,” and explained, “This is precisely why we moved quickly to open the stem cell clinic.”
